Hi! I'm Lila

As the innkeeper of Pioneer Inn, I have the pleasure of welcoming guests from all over the world to our beautiful corner of Alaska. My name is Lila, and I'm not just an innkeeper—I'm also a mom of four fun, energetic, and adventurous children: Sawyer (13), Wylder (12), Selma (8), and Ginny (3). Our family also includes a Chesapeake Bay Retriever named Louie, a cat named Oscar, and many chickens and fish.

A Life Full of Joy and Activity

In addition to my innkeeping duties, I'm a K-2 reading teacher here in Homer, Alaska. Balancing these roles keeps me busy, but I love every moment of it. When I'm not working, I cherish exploring the stunning Kenai Peninsula with my tribe of athletic friends. Endurance open-water swimming and marathon running are my passions, and I occasionally participate in triathlons.

Embracing the Alaskan Lifestyle

Growing up, I spent many summers deckhanding for my dad on his salmon gillnetters in Cook Inlet and Bristol Bay. Recently, I've taken up gardening and farming, raising vegetables, chickens, and pigs. I also enjoy canning and preserving the fruits of our labor, and during the winter months, I love to crochet hats and other items to keep us warm.

Making Your Stay Memorable

At Pioneer Inn, we strive to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Whether you're here to explore the breathtaking landscapes or to relax and unwind, we want you to feel at home.
